Just wanted to send a brief email to say thanks to all involved with creating the Derby Nomad Way trail.

I started the walk during the pandemic and have eventually got around to completing it this summer (family life and business commitments kept getting the way!).  Really enjoyed exploring the surrounding villages and landscapes around Derby.

The walk was well signposted and the work that has gone into creating it is much appreciated.  The only feedback point concerns the Findern - Etwall leg.  Footpaths were really overgrown with brambles and hard to discern.  I guess not many hardy souls venture into this area probably because of the requirement to negotiate the busy A50.

Enjoyed the varied landscapes en-route and I think my favourite view was probably at Bunkers Hill, Quarndon.

Thanks again to all involved - the walk was a good challenge to undertake and very replenishing.

I'm now looking at embarking on a similar challenge in Nottingham a.k.a the Notts Clockwalk. Just sharing the following link in case it is of interest to your members.

Dear Richard

I’m glad to hear that you have been able to complete the Derby Nomad Way trail. Your note and thanks is certainly appreciated. I will make sure that it is forwarded to the folk who did the hard work.

We check and do maintenance on different sections of the walk each year. We clearly need to look at the Findern - Etwall leg on our next maintenance walk.

Kind Regards, Sherril
